Standing at a towering height of 1,345 feet (410m) above sea level, Mount Puting Bato is the Island’s highest point. Let's Begin!
We planned to camp in the peak of Puting Bato (white stone). So we started around 4:00 PM going to Samal Island.

From Davao Port (barge) to Island Garden city of Samal (Port)

From Samal Port you have to ride a motor bike or (habal-habal) going to the trail point.

Its peak can be reached following two different trails. One is the Guilon Trail and the other one is Tayapoc Trail. The Guilon Trail entails approximately 2 hours hike from the jump off point passing through narrow trails and bushy woods. On the other hand, Tayapok Trail from the jump off site to the peak only requires a very minimal 30 minutes hike passing through an open trail and grassy upland. (c) http://thetravelteller.com/mount-puting-bato-samal-islands-highest-point/

Reached the CAMP SITE 1 approximately around 1hr and 30mins, because it's really dark and a heavy rain that we faced and survived.

View in the morning :)
Good Morning Mt. Puting Bato..."There is a house where the caretaker lives in the campsite of the peak."

We are now heading to the peak of Mt Puting Bato, which is also the CAMP SITE 2.

After that little ladder you will reach the small house where you can rest for a while and enjoy the over looking view.

Finally, we reached the entrance of the CAMPSITE 2 and  Peak of Mt. Puting Bato (1,755 feet above see level).

Meet and Greet!
The Princess!

We decided to end our trek to Canibad Beach for another 3 hours of trekking. But you have the choice to ride a motorbike (habal-habal) going back to the Samal port or end your trekking and proceed to the beach.

Here are some of our photos going to Canibad Beach.
